A snapshot of the 14th round of the A-League Men where Melbourne City continued their hot goalscoring form against struggling Western Sydney.
THEY SAID IT: "Just no. It clearly wasn't a penalty" - Melbourne Victory coach Tony Popovic wasn't happy with referee Daniel Elder's decision to award Newcastle a spot kick in the Jets' 2-1 win at AAMI Park on Saturday.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Mathew Leckie. The Socceroo backed up after scoring his first ALM goal for Melbourne City in the 4-2 win over Newcastle with a double in City's 3-1 triumph over Western Sydney on Friday. The three goals in three days are the 31-year-old's first in the ALM since scoring for Adelaide United against Gold Coast United in the 2011 finals.

BEAT THAT: Bernardo, the 18-year-old son of Adelaide legend Cassio, wrote his own chapter in the Reds' ALM story by scoring in the 92nd minute to snatch a 1-1 draw for his team over Wellington on Saturday. The teenager's back post header was his first in the ALM and secured fourth-placed a point against the in-form Phoenix.
STAT ATTACK: Jack Hingert became just the second player to appear in 200 ALM games for Brisbane on Sunday. The Roar made the most of the occasion at Moreton Daily Stadium against Macarthur FC, defeating the Bulls 3-1 to claim a third win of the season while Hingert received a standing ovation when he was substituted off in the second-half.
A wonderful moment post game sees Jack Hingert celebrate his 2⃣0⃣0⃣th @brisbaneroar appearance with the fans 👏

TALKING POINT: Was referee Shaun Evans correct to overturn his decision to award a penalty against Sydney FC's Rhyan Grant for handball in the dying minutes of Saturday's 1-1 draw against Western United? Sky Blues coach Steve Corica was livid when the decision was originally given while Western's John Aloisi admitted after the match he was confused by Evans reversing his decision after a VAR check.
UNDER PRESSURE: Macarthur's loss to Brisbane means the Bulls have now gone five matches without a win. After a long COVID-19 break Ante Milicic's team have drawn two and lost two in 2022 and conceded 11 goals in their past four matches. The Bulls are hanging on to sixth spot but need to rediscover their winning touch to avoid slipping out of the finals positions.
UP NEXT: Another big week looms with Melbourne City hosting Adelaide on Tuesday before Wellington and the Roar face off in Sydney and Western Sydney host Victory on Wednesday. A full round next weekend kicks off with City against the Jets on Friday with Victory hosting Central Coast in an FFA Cup final rematch on Saturday.
