It will be the first time an international match has been played at the venue and FFA CEO Ben Buckley said it will be a celebration for all the members of the football family.

"This match will be a first for the Qantas Socceroos at a purpose-built stadium that captures a European-style football atmosphere," Buckley said.

"We are giving the Football Family across Australia and players registered with Football Federation Victoria in particular the privilege of an exclusive pre-sale window and a 10 percent discount as recognition of their passionate support for football and the Socceroos."

"These people are the heartbeat of the game and I’m sure that passion will translate into a fantastic atmosphere for the Qantas Socceroos' first ever game at AAMI Park."

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Victorian Government and the Victorian Major Events Company for their contribution and continued support of the Socceroos and football in Australia."

The Socceroos have already booked their place in the final round of qualifying, but the match is sure to be hotly contested with the Saudis needing to win to guarantee their progression.

The last time the two sides met was in September when Australia defeated Saudi Arabia 3-1 in Dammam.
