Fabio Quagliarella gave Juve the lead after 24 minutes and Alessandro Del Piero doubled their tally midway through the second half, writing his name in the history books as the club's all-time leading scorer in Serie A with 179 goals.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic halved the deficit for Milan with a goal against his former club eight minutes from time, but Juve held on for the win which moves them up to fourth.

Third-placed Milan remain two points behind leaders Lazio, who visit Palermo tomorrow.

In today's other match, Roma beat Lecce 2-0 to climb into the top half of the table.

Nicolas Burdisso put the Giallorossi in front after little over an hour of play and Mirko Vucinic made it two in the 76th minute.

However, the match was marred moments later by a confrontation between Roma's Francesco Totti and Lecce's Ruben Olivera which resulted in both players being sent off.
