Veart, who turned 37 on Monday, has revealed his intention to hang up his boots after the Group G game at Hindmarsh Stadium.

The veteran striker has not started any of Adelaide's AFC Champions League games to date, only appearing as a substitute in two matches, but coach Aurelio Vidmar has confirmed that Veart will be in the starting XI for his farewell match.

Although Adelaide are already out of contention for a spot in the last eight, Vidmar has called on his charges to put in one final effort.

"We want to win our last game, especially at home. We all sat down and spoke before the last game about putting in two big efforts. One was put in against Shandong (a fortnight ago) and now we need one more," he said.

Unfortunately for Vidmar, Adelaide's selection problems have not receded with departing Brazilian attacking midfielder Fernando and compatriot Diego sidelined by injury, and forwards Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite both suspended.

The Adelaide coach readily admits that he is struggling to find enough fit players to take on the Vietnamese side.

"The ones who are on the field will be fit and the guys on the bench won't be so fit but we just have to make do," he lamented.

Adelaide's 2-0 win in Long An in March remains their only victory so far in their maiden ACL campaign and they will be heavily favoured to do the double against the Vietnamese club, who have yet to manage a point from five matches.

Dong Tam Long An warmed up for their Australian visit by defeating Nam Dinh 3-2 on Saturday for their third win in four V-League matches.

Nguyen Viet Thang, Antonio and Tshamala Kabanga were on target for Dong Tam, who are now in fourth place as they chase their third consecutive domestic 2league title.
