There was double delight for South Korean sides as both FC Seoul and Suwon Bluewings reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League with convincing victories over Japanese opposition.
At Seoul World Cup Stadium, the capital side outclassed Kashima Antlers 3-0.
Bang Sung-hwan gave the hosts the lead after 38 minutes when he found the bottom corner with a low strike and Dejan Damjanovic doubled the advantage 10 minutes after the break when he volleyed home Server Djeparov's cross at the near post.
Koh Myung-jin added the third in injury time when he lifted the ball over Hitoshi Sogahata after the Kashima keeper had roamed too far from his goal before stroking it into an empty net.
Meanwhile, goals in either half from Yeom Ki-hyun and Lee Sang-ho helped Suwon see off defending J.League champions Nagoya Grampus at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Yeom opened the scoring when he headed home Lee Yong-rae's cross inside the six-yard box after 23 minutes and Lee Sang-ho then capitalised on a defensive mix-up 11 minutes into the second period to seal Suwon's passage into the last eight.
Two goals in the first five minutes set Zob Ahan on their way to a comprehensive 4-1 win over Al Nassr at the Foolad Shahr.
Mohammad Ghazi opened the scoring after just 28 seconds when he was fed by Mohammad Reza Khalatbari, skipped round three weak challenges in the box and slot home.
Al Nassr's woeful defending continued five minutes later when Igor Castro was left unmarked at the far post to head home Khalatbari's corner.
Castro drilled home the third when afforded time and space in the box midway through the second period before Zob Ahan keeper Shahab Gordan gifted Al Nassr a goal when he charged out of his area to clear a ball over the top but allowed Bader Al Mutwa to round him and knock the ball into an empty net.
But Shaahin Kheiri's fabulous 30-yard strike killed hopes of a comeback and Al Nassr also had Hussain Sulaimani sent-off in the dying minutes.
Finally, Al Sadd saw off Al Shabab 1-0 at Al Sadd Stadium thanks to Abdulla Kone's 12th-minute header and an inspired performance from keeper Mohammad Saqr.
