Rangers star Charlie Adam has refuted suggestions that tomorrow`s Old Firm derby is nothing more than a meaningless end of season game.
The midfielder, 21, insists he is relishing the visit of Celtic just as much as he would any other clash between the two Glasgow rivals.
A win would allow Rangers to secure second place in the Bank of Scotland Premier League and a crack at the Champions League next season.
For Celtic, however, the hard work is already over after they finally clinched the SPL title at Kilmarnock a fortnight ago.
Even so, Adam is adamant there is still plenty to play for on both sides of the divide - even if it just personal pride.
He said: "It`s a massive game and probably the best derby in the world.
"There is never going to be a meaningless Old Firm derby and we will be looking to win the game."
He added: "Celtic have already won the league and in their camp they will be saying they`ve got nothing to play for.
"But you have to beat your rivals.
"That`s what this game comes down to - us beating Celtic and them beating Rangers.
"We managed to get a result at Celtic Park the last time and hopefully we can get a similar result tomorrow."
Adam - who spent last season on loan at St Mirren - has made the most of his breakthrough season at Rangers by netting 13 goals from the midfield.
He appears to have carved out a place for himself in Walter Smith`s plans and earned the recognition of his fellow professionals when he was shortlisted for the SPFA young player of the year award.
But, with Rangers suffering their second consecutive barren season, the youngster insists he would swap all the praise and plaudits for silverware.
"I`m delighted with the way I have performed over the course of the season," he said.
"To be nominated for young player of the year was a great achievement for me after where I was last season.
"A lot of people probably thought I would never get here but I was determined and always knew I would do it.
"There`s still a long way to go but I`ve got to be proud of what I`ve done this season.
"I`ll look back and say I`ve had a great season on a personal note but it`s been a disappointing one as a team.
"For me, it`s more important as a team that we win trophies."
