Charlie Adam tonight saw possible moves to Liverpool and Tottenham fall through but vowed to give his all to the Blackpool cause over the remaining months of the season.
The 25-year-old Scotland midfielder and Blackpool captain had looked set for a switch to Anfield but the clubs could not agree on a fee.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp tonight said the London club had met Blackpool's asking price just before the transfer window closed, but the paperwork could not be processed in time.
Adam told Sky Sports News: "It's been a crazy day.
"I'm still a Blackpool player and I want the Blackpool fans to know I'm totally committed to playing the best I can for the club, and I will do my best to help us achieve the highest possible league finish."
Blackpool earlier signed midfielder Andy Reid from Barclays Premier League rivals Sunderland for an undisclosed fee, and he looked set to replace Adam but instead joins him in Ian Holloway's squad.
Reid, a 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international, made 70 appearances for the Black Cats following his £4million switch from Charlton in January 2008.
However, he became surplus to requirements under Steve Bruce and followed Paulo da Silva and David Healy out of the Stadium of Light.
"I think he will be perfect for us and it won't take me long to get him going," Holloway said.
"He's gone for £12million (in cumulative transfer fees) in the past so that's not a bad take for us I believe."
Blackpool also snapped up Belarus striker Sergei Kornilenko on loan for the rest of the season from Zenit St Petersburg.
The 27-year-old became the fourth transfer deadline day signing at Bloomfield Road, following Reid, James Beattie and Jason Puncheon.
Kornilenko, who has recently had loan spells with Tom Tomsk and Rubin Kazan, will add to Holloway's strike options.
There will now be strong competition for places up front for the Tangerines, thanks to the arrival of Beattie.
The 32-year-old joined on loan until the end of the season from Rangers, where he struggled to make an impact since joining from Stoke due to a series of injuries.
His chances of doing so were further diminished by the loan signing of Northern Ireland striker Healy on Sunday.
