FORMER Adelaide United boss John Kosmina believes an early goal at Hindmarsh Stadium next week can reignite the Reds' quest to lift the Asian Champions League trophy.

Speaking after training at Sydney Football Stadium this morning, the ex Hindmarsh chief was full of admiration for Gamba Osaka's display in the 3-0 triumph.
He joked: "I'd try and work out what sort of drugs you could take to make people run faster because the Japanese team were dynamite. They were fantastic.
"They completely outplayed them. They're a very, very good football team."
Asked whether it was now a lost cause after a first leg 3-0 defeat, the Sydney FC boss replied: "Was it a lost cause for the central coiast at 3-0 the other night with 20 minutes to go? Adelaide United have got 90 minutes.
"I think if they get one early at home they've got every chance of being in that game."
A lot has been said and written about fatigue and the Reds punishing schedule.
Kosmina says midweek football is just something clubs have to deal with as they push for success.
He said: "The Champions League is played midweek and teams have to back up on weekends - before and after.
"As part of the ongoing professionalisation of the game in this country, then teams need to learn to cope with that.
"That's what professional football's about. It's not nice and cosy and playing every Saturday afternoon like it used to be. It's hard work."
