Adelaide United has made an offer to sign out-of-contract former Germany international Kevin Kuranyi as their guest player according to reports.
The Advertiser claims the Reds are waiting on a final answer from the 34-year-old striker who was released by German club Hoffenheim following their relegation in May.
He failed to score in 14 Bundesliga appearances for Hoffenheim last term, but netted at a rate of once in less than every third game in his previous spell with Dinamo Moscow.
Adelaide has for weeks been chasing the Brazil-born striker who would become the club’s highest paid player in its history.
Kuranyi played for Germany 52 times between 2003 and 2008 and lists Schalke 04, VfB Stuttgart and Dinamo Moscow as his former clubs.
The Reds are eager to bolster their attacking options following the exits of forwards Bruce Djite and Pablo Sanchez along with Stefan Mauk, Bruce Kamau and Craig Goodwin.
Adelaide has also been linked with ex-Brisbane Roar attacker Henrique who is understood to be keen to leave Malaysian club Negeri Sembilan.
Henrique, who has Australian citizenship, only joined Negeri Sembilan in June and has also been rumoured with a return to Roar.
Former Torino and Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi has also been linked with Adelaide.
