Adelaide United coach Marco Kurz revealed Jordan Elsey has signed a new deal with the South Australian club.
Elsey's previous deal with United expired at the end of last season, but new head coach Kurz has elected to keep him on board for their 2017/18 A-League campaign.
The 23-year-old has been training with United in recent weeks after making a recovery from a second serious knee injury.
Elsey ruptured his ACL 11 months ago, which kept him out for the entire 2016/17 season.
But after consultations with the Adelaide medical stuff, Kurz and the club elected to offer Elsey a new deal.
The defender could make his competitive return on Wednesday as Adelaide face Newcastle Jets in the FFA Cup Round of 32.
