The Reds travel to Perth Glory in Round Five for Saturday night’s fixture, having already journeyed to Wellington and Brisbane this season.

By the time United return from the Perth trip, they will have clocked up almost 14,000 kilometres on flights in the first month of the season.

United claimed a 1-1 draw in the New Zealand capital, before a last-gasp 2-1 win away to Brisbane.

They were also on the road in midweek last week, claiming a 2-1 FFA Cup semi-final win over Western Sydney and appear unperturbed by travel.

“You can take it one of two ways, I think it’s better to get them out of the way now,” Garuccio said.

“We went to Wellington we got a draw there, we go to Perth this week, if we take the points away from there we’ve done well with some tough away fixtures.

“That’s something we can take a lot of positives from.”

Garuccio insisted there would be no fear factor either of the Perth crowd, which was an impressive 12,167 in their opening home game.

“It’ll be good. For us it’s not worrying about the crowd, they’ll obviously be cheering for them,” Garuccio said.

“We’ve just got to go there and do our thing, not be intimidated and really take the game to them.”

The full-back said United remained upbeat despite last round’s 2-0 home loss to Melbourne City, where they were missing several key players including Johan Absalonsen, Vince Lia, Taylor Regan and Ersan Gulum.

“It’s been the same. It was a 2-0 loss, it didn’t really feel like a 2-0 loss,” Garuccio said.

“We had a lot of joy in the game, creating a lot of chances. We could’ve been more clinical in front of goal.

“The whole team played really well. We had a few young players out there.

“We’re upbeat and ready to go.”
