Daniel Adlung and Ben Garuccio both saw second yellow cards in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Garuccio received his initial booking in the first-half after giving away a penalty, which Besart Berisha failed to convert. He then received his marching orders for time wasting in the dying minutes.

Adlung copped a yellow card on Rhys Williams in the 38th minute and then saw red after taking down Matias Sanchez with eight minutes remaining.

The Reds boss looked furious after his men were sent off and made it known he thought it was a mistake post-match.

“At this moment it’s not easy because I think the yellow and red cards are incorrect,” Kurz said.

“I think after a throw-in and also second yellow card for Adlung, it’s not a yellow card.

“When you saw the scenes before I think in the first-half, maybe the tackle from Ersan (Gulum) is also a yellow card and (was) nothing and (so) then you can’t give a yellow card after a throw-in.”

There was a minimum of seven minutes added time at the end of the game, but United managed to contain Victory.

Baba Diawara opened the scoring in the 17th minute which was cancelled out by Mark Milligan in the second-half.

George Blackwood then scored his first Adelaide goal to win the Reds the game with 18 minutes remaining.

“Seven minutes over-time, it’s new for me, but we had luck on our side and I think the fight and confidence to win maybe was the key today,” Kurz said.

“It’s very good for the players, I was very happy with Baba, when you saw him after the goal, he looked like a kid smiling.

“He works very hard, also Georgie, I’m happy with both strikers and it’s good to know they scored today. It’s good for the players and our team, we have quality from our striker position.

“It was a very big victory for us and first I must say congratulations, I love the boys and the squad. It is not easy to beat Victory, but we made a good chop, the boys fought for a result and we’re happy with the three points.”
