FTBL understands Adelaide United were interesting in bringing Juric back to the South Australia club where he made seven appearances in 2013.

It is believed the Reds made Juric a sizeable offer, but the Socceroo has decided to try and continue his career overseas.

However, Adelaide United have claimed they made no offer to the 28-year-old.

Juric is a free agent after his contract ended at Swiss Super League side FC Luzern.

He joined FC Luzern from Dutch club Roda JC in 2016 and scored 22 goals in 75 appearances.

Juric started brightly in Switzerland, banging in 11 goals in 35 matches in his debut season.

But the forward was frozen out during an injury-interrupted 2018-2019 campaign, recording just two goals in games for Die Leuchten.

His last first-team appearance for FC Luzern came in February against Neuchatel Xamax and he was then asked to train alone.

Earlier this year Juric was linked to a move to Indonesia to join Liga 1 side Persib Bandung, but the transfer never materialised.

The striker missed out on a spot in Australia’s Asian Cup squad that went to the UAE in January, and last played for the national team in November 2018 in the 3-0 win over Lebanon.

Adelaide United have made two new signings this month in Melbourne City midfielder Riley McGree and Charlotte Independence defender Michael Maria.

New head coach Gertjan Verbeek, who replaced Marco Kurz, is still on hunt for new players after the departures of Scott Galloway, Baba Diawara, Jordy Thomassen, Ken Ilso, Isaias and Craig Goodwin.

The Reds are in need of forwards with currently just George Blackwood, Nikola Mileusnic and scholarship players Carlo Armiento and Pacifique Niyongabire on their books.
