United will set up a fan zone right outside the stadium from 6pm to accommodate 1000 punters for the semi-final first leg against Rivaldo's Bunyodkor. A big screen, beers and food will be available.

"We're fully subscribed, and that includes standing room only tickets," Reds marketing manager Alison Papas told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"Only if World Sport Group [AFC's marketing partner] release any tickets back to us will there be any more tickets for local fans," she added.

It's expected that if the Reds do make it to the ACL final – which would be played at Hindmarsh Stadium for the home leg – the club will set up an even bigger fan zone.

And the semi final next Wednesday against the Uzbekistan side has assumed even greater importance.

The winner of the ACL automatically qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan this December. Rules state no country is allowed two entries.

With the host already assured of a spot, either Gamba Osaka or Urawa Red Diamonds - the runner up may be allowed to compete at the event in December – which could reap millions to the club.

This situation is being clarified by Adelaide United.
