Jake Adelson is likely to be out for the whole A-League season with confirmation the Central Coast Mariner has ruptured his ACL.
Adelson picked up the injury in the the final minutes of Saturday's friendly with Wellington in Sydney.
The Mariners confirmed the left-knee injury Tuesday after Monday's scans.
Adelson will meet with an orthopedic surgeon in Sydney this week ahead of a knee reconstruction.
"The Central Coast Mariners wish Jake all the best on his road to recovery," the club said in a statement.
The 20-year missed nearly nine months of football after rupturing his other ACL in December last year.
The winger/ fullback is a Blacktown City junior and spent two years with Everton before joining Western Sydney in 2014.
He signed for the Mariners in 2015 and made his A-League debut in round seven last season.
