Sydney FC's tour of Italy has been more of a Del Piero love-fest with the rest of the Sky Blues squad taking a back seat to the World Cup winner and former Juventus striker, which continued on Sunday in the beach town of Jesolo, just east of Venice.

Del Piero became the first athlete to have his footprints set in concrete in Jesolo's Walk of Stars, which, in a similar concept to the forecourt of the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, includes the footprints of many famous Italian artists and actors.

Afterwards, the 38-year-old forward was paraded in front of a reported figure of 500,000 people, before he was shown to a street that has been rebadged to include his name.

The entire experience was an eye-opener for Del Piero's Sydney FC teammates.

"To see Alessandro receive the honour of having a street named after him was amazing for me and the rest of the boys lucky enough to be there," Sydney defender Pascal Bosschaart said.

"It is amazing to witness how the people of Italy love him and respect him and we are lucky enough to play football with him."

Sydney FC have notched a victory and a loss so far in Italy and will continue their tour with a friendly versus Vicenza on Tuesday

Another three matches will follow Tuesday's game before Sydney FC return to Australia later this month.
