FFA Cup quarter-finals pic special

New Polish signing Adrian Mierzejewski impressed with a brilliant display, playing his part in both goals.

The Sky Blues will be left sweating after injuries to both Alex Brosque and Michael Zullo who were both forced off.

Earlier, Jordy Buijs opened the scoring with a seventh minute free-kick, which Mierzejewski had won.

Brosque doubled Sydney's advantage on 51 minutes with a classy chip after the Polish attacker's pass.

Sydney, who have never won the FFA Cup, joins Adelaide United in the semi-finals.

Next week's quarter-final see Blacktown City play Western Sydney Wanderers and Gold Coast City up against South Melbourne.
