Sao Paulo striker Adriano claims he is back to his best and ready to return to the Brazil national team.
The 25-year-old, who is on a six-month loan from Internazionale, scored a stoppage-time winner against Paraguay's Sportivo Luqueno to put his team on the brink of a Copa Libertadores last-16 berth.
Adriano has become the most important attacking weapon for the reigning two-time Brazilian league champions by scoring decisive goals in both the Copa Libertadores and the Campeonato Paulista - the Sao Paulo state championship.
He is delighted by his return to form following some well-documented problems with alcohol.
"Everybody knows what I have experienced over the past two years," he said.
"I'm working very hard to clean that negative image and I'm achieving that little by little.
"If I go on this way, I can be the player I was two years ago."
Adriano last represented his country on January 6, 2007, when the Selecao lost 2-0 to Portugal in a friendly in London. He wants to be back as soon as possible.
"I dream about playing for the national team again," he said.
"I want to impress (Brazil head coach) Dunga again and I think I can get a new opportunity by working this way."
