Arsenal have been viewed as the frontrunners for Arshavin, although there are suggestions from Russia that Manchester City could move for the the 27-year-old if they fail to land Kaka from AC Milan.

"Negotiations with Arsenal continue and the chances are very high that Arshavin will soon play in the English Premier League," Dutchman Advocaat told dailymail.co.uk.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger insists he has no concerns over Milan trying to target Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie if they sell Kaka to City.

"No, I'm not worried about that at all," was Wenger's response.

Wenger, who wants more creativity, could have Tomas Rosicky back in his midfield before the end of the season, after a year out with a knee injury.

Rosicky admits being sidelined for a long period means he has to build up his confidence again.

"Everyone surely knows that I am not in my ideal state of mind, the one I used to be in when I was in Arsenal's starting line-up two or three times a week," he told his own website.

"Now I am playing a different game. I have been working hard every single day and want to be back soon. I need to be patient."

Deposed Arsenal skipper William Gallas, meanwhile, has suggested he will run down his current contract with the club before assessing his options.

Gallas, quoted on Setanta, said: "There is no tension. I play. I give the maximum for the club.

"I am concentrating on my future, finishing my contract with Arsenal and seeing where I'll go in two years."
