Advocaat's team will play their biggest game of the season on Sunday as they host Ajax with just three points separating the two teams in the standings.

But the PSV boss is unhappy at how recent comments have been interpreted by media, telling De Telegraaf: "I always try to tell you what I think and feel, but at some point it comes back at me the wrong way.

"Nowadays you can apparently no longer show emotions. So next time I'll just smile to you, because I can act very well.

"If you say you’ve come to PSV to be champion, it's not good. In hindsight I should have said we (would come) fourth. Then we would have done fantastically.

"The negativity is rampant."
