SOCCEROO snub coach Dick Advocaat has confirmed a 12-month contract extension at Zenit St Petersburg after turning down the chance to become the new coach of Australia.
Advocaat rejected the Socceroos last week after reportedly receiving a lucrative offer to stay at Zenit, the club he led to their first Russian title since 1984 earlier this month.
"Dick Advocaat has chosen St Petersburg and Russia," club president Sergei Fursenko told Zenit's official website.
Advocaat guided South Korea to the finals of the 2006 World Cup and also coached Holland at the 1994 World Cup.
