AJAX have released defender Samuel Kuffour after he failed to make an impact during six months with the club.
Kuffour joined Ajax from Roma in January but made only two appearances, both as a substitute, and Ajax confirmed in a statement on their website that his deal will not been extended.
"The player and the club have decided that after good deliberation," the statement said.
Ajax had an option to sign the 31-year-old Ghanian to a new two-year deal.
