The Holland international has been linked with Real Madrid, Arsenal and Tottenham this summer but the Eredivisie giants are adamant he will not leave at this stage as they will have no time to find a value-for-money replacement.

"Selling such an important player on the last day of the transfer deadline is impossible," said Ajax technical manager Danny Blind in De Telegraaf.

"For every other player we would like to sign in return, we would then have to pay the highest price.

"So we have agreed within the club that we won't reply to any offer we get on Monday."

Ajax have also announced they have terminated the contract of winger Nicolae Mitea.

The Romanian, whose contract was due to run until July 1, 2009, made 75 appearances for the club but did not figure in the plans of new coach Marco van Basten.
