Al Kuwait, who needed a point from their last league match against Al Qadisiya to seal the crown, fell at the last hurdle as they went down to a 3-0 defeat against last year's AFC Champions League semi-finalists.

Al Qadisiya took the lead after 19 minutes when Hamad Al Enazi headed home a Nohayer Al Shammeri cross, before adding another goal in the 38th minute after a quick counter attack as he outpaced Al Kuwait defender Yaqoub Al Taher before beating goalkeeper Khaled Al Fadhli and scoring.

In the second half, Al Kuwait couldn't reduce the deficit and Al Qadisiya, who were reduced to 10 men as Ibrahima Keita was sent off five minutes before the end, sealed the win through Seydou Traore in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Kazma took full advantage of Al Kuwait's defeat as they defeated Al Tadamon 3-0.

After a scoreless first half, striker Goran Stepanovic opened the scoring in the 57th minute while Tarek Al Shamari made it 2-0 in the 65th. Faisal Al Adwani sealed the win five minutes from time.

Al Kuwait's fellow representatives in this year's AFC Champions League, Al Arabi, will also have a play-off with Al Tadamon to determine who will join Al Fahaheel in being relegated to the second division this year.

Al Arabi, held to a 1-1 draw with Qatar'sAl Rayyan last Wednesday, lost 1-0 against Al Sahel thanks to a goal from Ahmed Rajab in a match which Al Arabi finished with 10 men after striker Ahmed Matar was sent off in the 75th minute.

Elsewhere, Al Salmiya came from 2-0 down to defeat Al Fahaheel 3-2.
