Third-placed Al Talia reduced the gap to Syria League leaders Al Karama to four points following their 2-1 victory against 10-man Al Majd on Friday.
Al Talia, who have now 44 points, lie four points behind Al Karama and three behind second-placed Al Ittihad, opened the scoring one minute into the game through Aaref Agha.
Al Talia played with a numerical advantage from the 68th minute when Al Majd striker Samer Awad was sent off for a bad foul.
However, Awad team-mate Ali Al Refai levelled the scores in the 75th minute.
Al Majd's joy lasted for just two minutes as Hussan Rifai scored the winner for Al Talia to give his side a valuable win.
In the other matches on Friday, Al Horiya defeated inaugural AFC Cup champions Al Jaish 2-1, while Al Wahda were held to a scoreless draw by Teshrine.
Al Futowa defeated Al Qrdaha 2-1 and Al Shorta saw off Hottine 3-0.
