The 26-year-old Real Madrid player has returned to his club after seemingly colliding with a team-mate during this morning's practice session.

A Real Madrid statement read: "Raul Albiol was injured today in Spain's morning training session at Las Rozas, when he suffered a blow to the face. He has fractured his left cheekbone, which means he has had to leave the squad and will miss the game against Scotland.

"The player has seen Spain team doctor Oscar Celada. Clinical and radiological studies have confirmed that he suffered a small fracture but the bones were not displaced."
