GRAHAM Alexander is adamant Burnley are united in their Barclays Premier League survival bid.
Manager Brian Laws had to endure speculation his job was under threat due to dressing room unrest following the 6-1 loss to Manchester City, talk exacerbated when out-of-favour midfielder Joey Gudjonsson hit out at the former Sheffield Wednesday boss.
However, the Clarets responded with a 4-1 win at Hull yesterday to enhance their slim survival prospects.
Alexander, who scored twice from the penalty spot in Burnley's first away win of the season, dismissed the speculation.
The Clarets captain said: "We're getting hit every single week, people are trying to split us as a group.
"We're keeping our own counsel and trying to keep the boys together.
"The manager, the staff behind him, the fans and the players, we're all one group and we don't want to let anyone come in between that.
"Whatever people have got to say outside it goes over our heads and we keep together, we keep strong and hopefully we'll have enough come the end of the season."
Burnley are four points adrift of safety following the win, with matches against Sunderland, Liverpool, Birmingham and Tottenham to come.
The 38-year-old has had a long wait to sample top-flight action and he hopes to be involved in the Premier League again next season.
"There are 25 players in the squad that don't want to let go, and the manager as well," he told BBC Sport.
"It's his first taste of it, he cares for the club, he wants to get the results and we're all in it together.
"I'm the same as everyone else, I want to play in this division next year and we're going to give it everything we've got for the last four games."
