Rabah Saadane's men face the Group C favourites aiming to get off the mark following their opening defeat by Slovenia.

They watched fellow underdogs Switzerland defend resolutely before shocking pre-tournament favourites Spain to take an unlikely three points yesterday with the coach hoping to match that feat in Cape Town this evening.

Yebda, who spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, revealed the team bonded ahead of the game by watching the 1966 film based on the Algerian War against French colonial rule.

"We watched it yesterday, 15 of us watched it," he revealed.

"I had never actually seen it, a number of us hadn't.

"It was a very moving thing, to see what actually happened. We were all together watching it and it was a very moving thing to do together, the sort of thing you need to do to unify the group to feel well together."

While Saadane has formulated his own plan against England, he would love to match Swiss counterpart Ottmar Hitzfeld's achievement.

"I hope so," he said.

"If it's possible I'd like that very much.

"Obviously this is something trainers watch very closely, so there is lots to be learned from each match. But everybody plays with their own means, each team is different.

"I think it will be an important match for both teams. I think we'll see a good match, it's the World Cup so undoubtedly it will be a fine spectacle and that's the interest of the tournament.

"I have a lot of respect for Mr Capello and the England team. We don't have any questions to ask and we're looking forward to the match.

"We've seen how they play, let me say again that we have no complexes (about being underestimated), we will play as well as we can to produce a good performance and a good match."

Saadane has yet to announce his choice of goalkeeper with Faouzi Chaouchi gifting Slovenia a goal in the opening game and struggling with a knee problem since. Rais M'Bohli is thought to be the leading alternative.
