Iachini, who guided the Flying Donkeys to promotion last season, has been shown the door after leading the team to just one victory this campaign.

Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Palermo saw Chievo slip to 19th in the standings, with just six points collected in 10 games.

"The club offers the most heartfelt thanks to Iachini and his staff, not only for the exceptional results obtained last season, but above all for their constant professionalism and dedication," read a statement from the club.

Iachini becomes the third coaching casualty in Serie A this term following the dismissals of Daniele Arrigoni at Bologna on Monday and Stefano Colantuono at Palermo in September.

Di Carlo, who was in charge of Parma last season before being sacked, faces a baptism of fire with the Verona outfit hosting Juventus this weekend.

Di Carlo, 44, will be introduced to the press at 1400 local time on Tuesday.
