Favourable results over the weekend mean Roar will be a point away from top spot if they can beat the Reds in Adelaide with two home matches remaining to round out the season.

Queensland are coming off an amazing 4-3 win over Central Coast in Gosford and Farina believes that result has the team in good stead for this week's matches.

"It'll be the toughest week for us this season," Farina said. "But the three points in Gosford was a massive three points for us so going into the week to start like that it’s a good feeling.

"It was a fantastic result for us on the weekend. It's put us in a situation now where if we can win against Adelaide in Adelaide, we'll have a shot at the Premiership I think.

"It'll be gone for us if we get nothing from the Adelaide game but there's a big carrot there.

"If we can win in Adelaide, which is a big call, we've got a real good shot at the Premiership or the top two."

However Roar will be without several key players for the clash with Danny Tiatto (broken toe) and Josh McCloughlan (hamstring) joining Liam Reddy and Charlie Miller on the injury list.

But all four are hopeful of returning for Saturday night's match against Sydney.

Andrew Packer and Hyuk-Su Seo will return to the squad in a defensive four in front of Griffin McMaster, who had a belated but eventful start to his Hyundai A-League season against the Mariners last week.

Farina said McMaster's performance was 'fantastic', despite being at fault for the Mariners' third goal.

"I thought Griffin stepped in as he did last year when he came in and played a major part in us winning the game," Farina said.

"He's put his hand up, he's made a mistake but he's continued on and, like I said, he's saved us the three points with two big saves at the end of the game."
