West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has admitted he fears Mohamed Diame will still leave the club in January.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with a move for Diame, 25, and are reportedly likely to make a move before the transfer window closes.
Despite rejecting claims Diame would switch to Emirates Stadium earlier in the month, Allardyce has since admitted 'confusion' surrounds the player's future.
His comments have fuelled suspicions Diame could exit Upton Park in the final three days of the window, but Allardyce remains hopeful.
Speaking to reporters, the ex-Bolton manager said: "It is total confusion. I'm as confused as anyone. We might lose him. I hope we don't."
Diame has earned 15 caps for Senegal and was signed on a three-year deal by West Ham in June last year.
