DANNY Allsopp insists money was not the motivating factor behind his move from Melbourne Victory to seven-time Qatari champions Al Rayyan.
The former Hull striker was a pivotal player for Victory as they won the Challenge Cup, Premiership and Championship last season but moved to the Middle East last week.
While Allsopp acknowledges the increased wage offer was a factor in his decision, he is adamant it was not the sole reason for his move.
"Money was not the essential element in my move to Al Rayyan," he said.
"It was one of the factors but the biggest motivation was that I needed to join a team who can achieve my ambitions to win a lot of titles like Al Rayyan.
"I had a good season last year as I scored 13 goals in 24 games with my team and helped Melbourne Victory to win the A-league title. I also played three international games with Australia.
"I hope that I can be a good addition to the team. I don't know much about Qatari football and I'm still learning about the atmosphere here in Qatar as I had a couple of training sessions with the team.
"I'm sure I will adapt more by playing games with the team and hopefully I can play a lot. I promise Al Rayyan fans that I will be giving 100% of my form on the pitch."
