John Aloisi has put to bed rumours of a walkout from Brisbane Roar, assuring fans that Football Operations chief Craig Moore and himself would be staying put at the club.
The announcement - made on Brisbane Roar's website - was made amid swirling rumours and reports that Aloisi was set to leave the club.
It was reported by SBS that Aloisi and Football Operations head Craig Moore put up a 'us or him'-style ultimatum to owners The Bakrie Group after communication between potential buyer and club administrator Daniel Cobb had broken down during an overseas trip.
Cobb had joined the club six weeks ago as interim-CEO and managing director, promising to set up a consortium to take a controlling stake of the club.
Furthermore, the Bakrie Group is still listed as owners of the club and ex-CEO David Pourre is also still listed as CEO on the club's website.
Despite these reports, Aloisi was quick to re-affirm his dedication to the club.
“I am committed to the Brisbane Roar and the project of making this club bigger and better," Aloisi said.
“The same goes for Craig Moore and our staff.
“The ownership uncertainty has been a constant throughout my time in Brisbane, but we are a resilient group.
“We went within a game of the Grand Final, despite the distractions. Of course, we want stability and long-term certainty, but that’s a matter for others.
“I want the Roar family to rally behind the club. That’s what is important today.
"I want the members, our sponsors and the Brisbane football community to help us build the Roar into something great.”
