John Aloisi says Roar won’t fear any opposition in the upcoming AFC Asian Champions League campaign which begins on Tuesday night against Thai Champions Muangthong United at Brisbane Stadium.
The clash will be Brisbane's first AFC Champions League Group Stage fixture since 2015 and head coach Aloisi believes his side will relish the opportunity to play against Asia's best.
“We are representing not only Brisbane and Queensland, but Australia,” he said.
“Muangthong United are a very technical side and very good on the ball but we know that within in our way of playing that we can hurt them as well.
"The way that we play, we feel that we can beat anyone, anywhere.”
Fullback Jack Hingert, who suffered an ankle injury in the 2-0 away win over Shanghai Shenhua, will be available for selection, while the club are waiting to receive further information on captain Matt McKay’s suspected broken nose sustained Saturday night against Glory.
Aloisi said depth was not an issue.
“We have a squad that know their roles and full of good, talented players. Whoever plays will put in a good performance," he said.
Vice-captain Jade North, who has extended his contract into a sixth Hyundai A-League season, says Roar won’t be fazed by a Muangthong United flush with Thai international representatives and experienced players.
“We’re playing Asia’s best club sides in this competition and we’re going to be playing a very good side tomorrow night which we have the utmost respect for," he said.
“At the same time, we’re going to try win the game and that’s what it’s all about for us.”
Brisbane Roar three-game ACL tickets are available for a reduced price through Ticketek.
