Brisbane Roar have announced Mel Andreatta as the W-League head coach.
The former Roar assistant and National Training Squad (NTC) coach will lead the squad in the ninth edition of the W-League and says she is excited about the opportunity.
“The chance to lead a team with so much history in a club that is so much a part of the Brisbane community is an exciting opportunity,” she said.
"I'm really looking forward over the coming weeks for us to work hard together and prepare for a successful season."
Head coach of the Roar's A-League side John Aloisi was full of praise for Andreatta's coaching ability and commitment to the club.
"Mel is someone that the club believes can take the W-League team to the next level," he said.
"It is important that we have buy in from every individual who has the privilege to work for Brisbane Roar.
"She understands the playing style we want to implement at our football club and we are excited about the upcoming W-League season."
Moving forward Roar’s A-League head coach (John Aloisi) and the new W-League head coach (Mel Andreatta) will work closely to ensure the women’s style of play is the same as the men.
