JOHN Aloisi may have played his last game for Sydney FC after the former Socceroos striker was ruled out of this weekend's grand final against Melbourne Victory.
Aloisi has been linked with a move to A-League debutantes Melbourne Heart next season when his marquee star contract with Sydney expires.
And he will now miss the last match of the season after the injury which forced him off in the preliminary final against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday has ruled him out of the Grand Final.
Results from MRI scans taken yesterday confirmed a torn left hamstring would keep him out for between six to eight weeks.
Aloisi was in peak form for the Sky Blues in season 2009/10, netting a club record 10 goals.
"I‘m shattered," Aloisi said. "We have worked so hard to get here and to have it taken from you is really devastating.
"When it happened I knew something wasn't right but you always have hope. When I got the news from the doctor it was pretty upsetting."
The injury leaves his future uncertain. Sydney coach Vitezslav Lavicka has spoken of his hope to keep Aloisi at the club next season, but it's unlikely he would stay on as marquee.
