Aloisi is imploring his troops to use their home-ground advantage in his side's first match of the A-League 2017/18 season in Brisbane.

“We need to be more positive – that’s the Brisbane Roar way of playing and last weekend we turned backwards a little too often,” Aloisi said.

“We’ve spoken about that during the week and I’m sure the boys, especially at home, will put on a good performance.”

Captain Matt McKay said the side will look to get Italian marquee Massimo Maccarone heavily involved in the game.

“We weren’t clinical or brave enough in the front third last week. We need to get the ball into Massimo (Maccarone) a bit quicker and feed off him,” McKay said.

“Being back at home will definitely help us.”

Attacking midfielder Brett Holman is fit to play after missing last Friday’s game against Melbourne City and Aloisi says the 63-time Socceroo is hungry to play.

“He (Holman) will definitely play some part in the game. He’s looking sharp, he’s excited and ready to play and it’s good to have him back because we know what he can bring for us,” Aloisi said.

Brisbane has an opportunity to become only the second club to score 500 A-League goals on Friday against the Reds. The Roar's tally currently stands at 497.
