XABI Alonso is happy to plan for life at Liverpool next season as his protracted move to Juventus remains in the balance.
While Alonso's short-term aim is undoubtedly to help Spain win their first European Championship title since 1964, the former Real Sociedad player's long-term future is not so clear.
Transfer speculation in England suggests he could be on his way to Italian giants Juventus, but Alonso insists that right now he remains a Liverpool player.
When asked where he would be playing next season, Alonso - whose Spain side face Italy in the Euro 2008 quarter-finals this weekend - said: "At the moment, Liverpool. It's something that I am apart from now, I am totally focusing on the European Championships and whatever happens at Liverpool you will have to ask the club.
"I haven't been told anything so far, so my plans are to start next season with Liverpool if there is not a change."
