Juventus striker Amauri has revealed he would jump at the chance to play for Italy.
The Brazilian-born player is waiting to be granted Italian citizenship having played his whole career in the country.
The former Palermo hitman has been snubbed by Brazil boss Carlos Dunga despite having impressed in recent seasons with some fine form in front of goal.
Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi recently claimed he would select Amauri once he becomes eligible to play for Italy, and the 28-year-old can not wait for that day.
"I have spoken to Lippi," said Amauri. "He said very nice things to me.
"If today I had the Italian passport in my hand and Lippi called me up tomorrow, I would go there without hesitation."
Amauri scored the only goal of the game against Udinese on Sunday to hand Juventus their first win in Serie A this season.
