The talented 17-year-old Mariner has been training with the German Bundesliga league leaders for the past few days and has certainly caught the eye according to the club.

These trials have prompted the high-flying club to publicly praise the Young Socceroo star just weeks after another Aussie at the club, keeper Mitchell Langerak, made a sensational first team debut.

“He can definitely play football and is a really great talent," Jürgen Klopp, Borussia Dortmund’s manager, told German media when asked about Amini.

"He is undoubtedly a talent. But if anything, he is one of our junior department," added Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc.

However Amini’s trials have been put on hold to join up with the Socceroo training camp squad in Germany.

The 23-player squad includes future talents such as Langerak, Michael Zullo from FC Utrecht and Aston Villa’s Chris Herd.

These players will train in the days leading up to the main Socceroo squad's preparations in Germany for a friendly against the "Mannschaft" at Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach next Tuesday.

Amini will resume his trials with Borussia after the training camp is finished on March 25 and is set to go onto Newcastle United in England before returning home to Australia.
