Adelaide United coach Guillermo Amor has refused to give away whether he’ll start John Hall or Daniel Margush in the absence of injured goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic.
Reds captain Galekovic has been ruled out for four weeks with a shoulder injury sustained in last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Central Coast.
Australia youth international Hall, 22, replaced Galekovic on the half hour mark against the Mariners and stepped in during his absence early last season.
Adelaide teenager Margush previously debuted in January last year when Hall was away with the Olyroos and Galekovic injured.
“John Hall is possible or Daniel, both goalkeepers are very good,” Amor said ahead of Friday’s home clash with Perth Glory.
“They are here three or four years. They are prepared and they know our football.”
Amor acknowledged Galekovic’s absence was significant but backed his younger duo.
“He’s a good goalkeeper,” Amor said. “He’s a player who is the captain and has a lot of experience.
“He’s always important for us. He has a problem at this moment, so we must wait.
“We have other goalkeepers in this situation.”
The Spaniard also revealed Friday’s clash with Glory would come too soon for new Korean signing Kim Jae-Sung, along with Eli Babalj.
The club’s third new recruit, Baba Diawara, is yet to arrive in the country, but Amor said their additions had been a boost around the club.
“It’s always important whe new players arrive,” Amor said.
“In the last five weeks we’ve been close. Three players is always good.
“We will await Baba. We know he’ll arrive in the coming days.”
Amor also refused to concede Adelaide’s finals hopes just yet despite being 10 points off sixth spot with nine rounds to go.
“We think it’s possible. We speak about this every day,” he said.
“Sometimes little things (go wrong) and we don’t win. We analyse the numbers and the statistics and they’re good, a lot of times better than the other time, but we don’t win.
“It’s hard when you lose games in the last minutes, it’s hard.”
