The pressure is mounting on Adelaide United coach Guillermo Amor and he admits he doesn’t deserve a new contract following Friday’s 5-0 home loss to Perth Glory.
The reigning champions were torn apart by midtable Glory in front of 6,006 fans in a low point for Amor’s side.
Speculation has mounted in recent weeks about Amor’s future, given he is out of contract at the end of this season.
“I think speaking here today is not the best moment, after a 5-0 loss isn’t a good moment,” Amor said.
“I don’t deserve nothing in this moment. I don’t deserve to sign a contract after this result.
“It’s not a good situation. It’s not good for Adelaide and me in this case.
“I don’t think in my future or my contract. I don’t think in the next year.
“My problem now is to win here. My head is in this now. I don’t think about my personal problems, my contract or my future.”
The Spaniard also apologized to the fans in attendance for the heavy defeat.
“We’re sorry, this is the message for the people and the supporters,” Amor said.
“Sorry for the situation and the result. Sorry to be here for two or three hours and we lose with this result.
“The first person who don’t like this situation is me, the players, the coaches, the group and, sure, the supporters in this case.”
