CARLO Ancelotti is convinced he is right to end Chelsea's interest in signing any more new players during the current transfer window.
The Italian coach believes that keeping the squad together gives them the edge over Premier League title rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Chelsea have signed Ross Turnbull, Daniel Sturridge and Yuri Zhirkov this summer and Ancelotti is more than happy with the trio.
The Blues had been consistently linked with moves for Franck Ribery of Bayern Munich and AC Milan's Andrea Pirlo but Ancelotti is satisfied with his squad.
"I think it's an advantage that we have the same group, same players as they have a very good relationship," said Ancelotti.
"Zhirkov is a very good international and Sturridge is a young player while Turnbull is a good goalkeeper - if we don't need to buy, then we stay with these players.
"It is more important not to lose a player. Andrea Pirlo was not necessary, he was necessary for Milan."
Chelsea face Manchester United in the Community Shield tomorrow with Zhirkov struggling for fitness because of a knee injury.
However, goalkeeper Petr Cech insists Chelsea's strike partnership of Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba can fire them to victory against the Premier League champions.
The Czech Republic international, having seen the partnership develop in pre-season, believes they can be the difference.
"We have a front two that will worry everyone in the Premier League and in Europe," declared Cech.
"One is the former best scorer in the league and the other is last season's top scorer and if you count the goals together, it is a great striking force.
"The season is long and we will need everyone to score goals, but if they score in every game it will be great for us. It is a perfect combination. You can see that they play and cooperate well together.
"One has the pace and the intelligence, the other has everything to help him get the ball, open the space or score goals.
"It's been great to see them play the way they have in pre-season, with their quality. We can see what's going to be the plan."
However, even though United have lost Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, Cech believes they could be as strong as ever.
"It will be exciting to see whether they will miss Ronaldo more than Ronaldo will miss them," said Cech.
"Even though Owen has had a few injuries, he has an awesome goal-scoring record. I think he'll be a great addition to their squad."
