ANDERLECHT made a flying start to their defence of the Jupiler League title with a 4-1 win over newly-promoted Eupen.
The champions actually trailed to Alex's goal on the stroke of half-time, but Matias Suarez scored twice and the prolific duo of Jonathan Legear and Mbark Boussoufa also found the net in a one-sided second half.
KV Mechelen were 2-0 winners at home to Lokeren to go second in the nascent league table. Julien Gorius set them on their way two minutes after half-time and Aloy Nong made the game safe (77).
Club Brugge slipped to a 1-0 defeat at KV Kortrijk, Davy De Beule scoring the only goal 10 minutes into the second half.
There were also single-goal wins for St Truidense, who sunk Lierse thanks to Vincent Euvrard's first-half strike, and AA Gent as Elimane Coulibaly's late effort gave them the points at Westerlo.
