Former Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou is in the mix to take over as boss of J.League club Yokohama F. Marinos according to reports.
Fairfax Media has reported that the ex-Australia boss, who walked away from the Socceroos gig last month following 2018 World Cup qualification, is a frontrunner for the head coaching role.
Yokohama F. Marinos, currently home to Socceroo Milos Degenek, are partly owned by the City Football Group.
The Japanese club recently confirmed that current coach Erick Mombaerts would leave his post at the end of the season.
Yokohama play their final game of the league season on Saturday against Urawa Red Diamonds, but remain in the Emperor's Cup with a semi-final against Kashiwa Reysol scheduled for December 23.
Seems like a done deal for Ange Postecoglou heading to Yokohama Marinos. Choosing J League opportunity instead of going to a World Cup. The mystery of why you'd choose Club over Country will be the debate down under these next few weeks.

The Marinos are currently sixth on the J.League table, having failed to win in their past three games, after being in the mix for AFC Champions League qualification earlier in the campaign.
Postecoglou has previously slated his ambition to coach at club level and abroad.
Upon his resignation from the Socceroos job, he said: "I want to coach abroad. Part of me is pretty keen to get stuck back into club football, working day-to-day.
"I don't want to be unemployed for too long, obviously."
