Sacked Peru coach Julio Cesar Uribe has accused the Peruvian Football Federation's 2010 World Cup Committee of being "cowards".
Only four months into the job, Uribe was dismissed after the 4-0 Copa America quarter-final defeat to Argentina, with Jose Del Solar named as his replacement.
"They named me four months ago bravely and now fired me cowardly," Uribe said to Fox Sports television network.
"There is no need in showing bravery and naming me as coach when the 80% of the fans didn't believe in me and now show cowardice to sack me because of this same 80%."
Uribe, who had previously been in charge of Peru from 2000 to 2001, insisted there were no hard feelings towards his replacement.
"I understand his illusion to be the coach, as I felt it when I was at the helm for the first time," he added.
"I tried to respond well to that responsibility, but they cut off my feet. I wish the best of luck to him. He is a successful professional and deserves the best."
