AUSTRALIAN midfielder Kasey Wehrman has hit out at management after he was axed in a clear-out at his Norwegian club Frederikstad.
The former Perth Glory and Brisbane Strikers star had a tumultuous season with the Tippeligaen side where he initially impressed on debut after joining from Norwegian rivals Lillestrom in 2007.
But at the start of this season he had a falling out with management after his demands for a new contract were ignored by management.
Frederikstad had eight players with contract running out this year, which was undiplomatically described as like "winning the lottery" by one club board member who wanted a clear out as the side slipped down the league.
On Friday, the club finally confirmed Wehrman and one other player's contract would not be renewed for next season.
But the Aussie lashed out at the process and the unrest caused by the uncertainty over players' future this season.
"This has not been handled professionally. This should have been organised over a year ago," he said.
"We need the same harmony and concentration each day for training. I have not seen so far this year."
Although Wehrman was linked with a move back to the A-League last season, local media in Norway are now tipping him to move to Denmark.
