Ryan is in red-hot form for promoted Brighton & Hove Albion and pulled off two top saves in the second half to ensure a share of the spoils against Newcastle United overnight.

The disciplined performance at Tyneside sees the Seagulls head into the New Year in a respectable 12th spot on the Premier League ladder.

But Ryan wasn’t getting carried away, telling the club’s website they needed to take all three points at home against the Cherries.

"It becomes a very good point if we can back it up with a win against AFC Bournemouth,” he said.

“A few times this season we’ve had results that lead into one another, so hopefully that can happen again.

“They won on Saturday and it won't be an easy game, so we’ll have to look up for it and be positive and hopefully add to our points tally.

“It’s important we look to build on the home win last Saturday and keep our home form  strong.”

Manager Chris Hughton singled out centre backs Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk for helping Brighton to their eighth clean sheet of the season and Ryan was quick to add his praise to the “guys in front” of him.

“I just try and pick up the pieces and made a couple of saves on Saturday,” he added.

“I’m just always looking to help the team and play my part when the side needs me and thankfully I was able to do that.”
