The Olyroos had more of the possession in the game but lacked the quality to make good chances, let alone convert them, as the impressive Uzbekistan frustrated them.

The result is Australia's third consecutive 0-0 draw in Olympic qualifying and leaves the Olyroos in second spot in Group B with three points.

Uzbekistan stay top of the group, where the group winner will automatically progress for London, with five points, while UAE and Iraq are scheduled to play later on today.

The OIyroos struggled for clear-cut opportunities, with Mitch Nichols seeing a good second-half chance go over the crossbar.

Earlier in the second 45, Dimi Petratos had netted but was clearly offside. For Uzbekistan, Fozil Musaev had their best chances in the first-half, testing out Mat Ryan.

Olyroos coach Aurelio Vidmar said: "We still can't hit the back of the net. Maybe it's time we stopped doing tactical work at training and concentrated a bit more on shooting.

"We seem to be lacking that little bit of extra finesse (in attack). We get in front of the penalty box time and time again, but the wall pass goes too long or the through ball hits the striker on the back of the neck instead of going in front of him.

"It's the small detail that's letting us down."
