Blacktown City striker Patrick Antelmi has signed for Wollongong Wolves for next year but is after an A-League move in the January window.
The former Portsmouth, Leeds United, Wolverhampton and Wigan Athletic junior spent a successful two years with Blacktown in the NSW NPL. Antelmi helped the Demons win the grand final and reach the quarter-finals of the FFA Cup.
The centre forward will switch to the Wolves in 2017 unless an A-League or overseas contract materialises.
Antelmi told FourFourTwo his move south to Wollongon was based on a need for regular game-time.
"We've had a lot of success the past three years (at Blacktown)," he said.
"But I needed to be somewhere that I was going to be playing and exposed to get seen and move forward. Wollongong appealed to me because it has always been a club with a lot of potential and ready to explode.
"I think with what's going on there at the moment and the backing the club is getting, it will be a good place for me to go and hopefully do well for the club and myself moving forward."
The 22-year-old bagged a goal in the NPL grand final win over Sydney United and racked up five goals in three appearances in this year's FFA Cup competition.
